Grazing Management

At Maplewood Acres Farm we actively try to steward the resources that God has entrusted us with to the very best of our ability. In order to do this, we employ a Management-intensive Grazing system (MIG) that promotes not only animal health but also the health of the land. We are also beginning to utilize the tool of High Stock Density grazing to speed the recovery of soils and fully utilize available forage. For winter feed we utilize both stockpiled pasture and hay. In our grazing system we emphasize four points: animal health, land health, ease of application, and simplicity.

The following videos detail winter strip Grazing on Maplewood Acres Farm with a variety of forage sources and livestock classes.
